Love INC Thrift Shoppe

The process began with fundraising in spring 2021. Through many Dessert Cafes, word of mouth, small group conversations and prayer, startup costs were raised. Thus, Love INC Thrift Shoppe, LLC, was born. In June 2021, the remodel of the old Goodwill space began. Many volunteers helped paint, remove and replace ceiling tile, put together racking and shelving, and much, MUCH MORE! It was truly a labor of love. God provided many steps of the way as only He can…to Him be the glory!

The Love INC Thrift Shoppe’s purposes are to:

  • Develop a sustainable funding source to support Love INC of Mahaska County ministries, as well as ultimately create new ministries to address need in our community in ways we aren’t currently able.
  • Support the local economy by providing a place for the community to donate goods and for people from miles around to shop for quality, “gently used” goods at thrift store prices.
  • Create opportunities for volunteers to serve in support of the Love INC ministry and build relationships with our neighbors and each other.

We're Hiring: Thrift Shoppe Team Member

he Love INC Thrift Shoppe is looking for a part time employee (30 hours/week).This will be a ministerial position responsible for carrying out Love INC’s mission.  A passionate and compassionate self-starter eager to serve others.  Personable and motivating , able to build trust and buy-in from leaders and volunteers. An ambassador of Love INC and an advocate for others.  Strong management skills including communication, organization, and a track record of follow-through.  A knowledge of name brand clothing pricing and in-demand home decor pricing is highly preferred.

Volunteer opportunities available in all departments!

Volunteer opportunities include receiving repurposed items, organizing inventory, pricing and displaying donations, training and assisting with sales, and providing customer services and love.
